50/50 (2011)

This has been on my “want-to-see” list for a while now, and lucky for me it was playing on the movie channels.  It is a dark comedy about how Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) becomes diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer and only have a fifty percent chance of living.  Seth RogenAnna Kendrick, and Anjelica Huston co-star with him, and are very well casted for their roles specifically Huston.  Huston plays Adam’s mother, and some of her scenes were so real that it was heartbreaking.  Gordon-Levitt also did a very good job with his role.  Far warning: this is a cancer movie so naturally it is going to have some tear-jerking moments, however it is filmed with some comedic relief.  It was a nice, short movie that still had some depth to it.
