Sideways (2004)

This movie has been on my “to see list” for quite some time and finally it was showing on my cable’s movie channels.  It was much different than I thought it was going to be, but in a “pleasantly surprised” sort of way.  It had more larger themes such as loneliness and how to deal with a mid-life crisis.  Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church were absolutely brilliant in their roles about how they take a week long winery trip in California just as Jack (Thomas Haden Church) was about to walk down the aisle.  Was a great Lazy Sunday movie, and would recommend it to those who have enjoyed movies like Manhattan.

Princess Bride (1987)

So this is an oldie but a personal favourite of mine.  I have watched this hilarious love story no joke about fifty times.  My family hates to watch this with me because I can quote the whole thing from beginning to end.  With that being said, I do realize that I am a little bias about this movie but none the less I think this is a movie that everyone should see before they die purely because of the “marriage. marriage is what brings us together…today” scene.  This movie is a classic that all ages can watch and laugh together, and it’s perfect for a lazy Sunday movie day.
